The Riedelkar 2-seater cable car in Annaberg is a great way of climbing the mountain and exploring the wide range of walking opportunities on offer. The Annaberg is the perfect starting point for some fantastic walks and mountain tours, including some setting out from the valley.

You can explore the entire Edtalm and Zwieselalm area on foot, for example, up to the Dachstein mountains and savour the famous panoramic of the Gosausee lake and Dachstein massif, across to the Hohe Tauern mountains, Tennengebirge mountains and Watzmann and Hoher Göll peaks! Numerous catered huts also attract visitors with their regional delights.

The Höhenweg mountain tree trail
A magnificent and fascinating trail between the towns of Annaberg and Lungötz! The route starts at the Tischlerei Schreder carpenters and climbs up to the Annaberger Höhenweg trail and from here follows the Pennbauern to Lungötz. The trees and flowers are signposted with explanations of their uses. Refreshment is guaranteed at the hydrotherapy centre. Qi Gong stations at energy points recharge energy levels while the hunter’s seat and small clunking barley mill fascinate visitors of all ages. There are also plenty of benches which offer magnificent views – also accessible by pushchair.
