The Hornbahn cable car in Russbach transports visitors quickly and effortlessly into a walker’s paradise. Here at an altitude of 1,450 m you will encounter a fantastic Alpine region with gentle walks and lush green meadows! Walking and relaxation are easier than you think here!

Walk to the Ameisensee lake and the Edtalmhütte hut or take a longer walk to the Zwieselalm hut – the possibilities are endless and can be tailored to your level of fitness. You will be accompanied throughout by breath-taking views of the Dachsteingletscher glacier, the Gosaukamm ridge, the Tennengebirge mountains and the Bischofsmütze peak – and if you are lucky, you might even encounter Alpine ponies or cattle on your route!

The journey is much more comfortable and a bit faster on the Ameisenexpress train which travels every half hour from the Hornbahn railway to the idyllic Edtalmhütte hut. Here you will be greeted with some traditional music. The Edtalm is an easy-reach excursion thanks to the railway and Ameisenexpress – even for pushchairs and wheelchairs. The tourist train is coordinated with the Horhbahn cable car.
