The ski region of Dachstein West is situated in the heart of Austria, making it very accessible from Salzburg and Upper Austria. The holiday island in the mountains doesn’t just enjoy a superb panorama, it also stands out due to the wide range of pistes it offers for the whole family, for beginners, those returning to the sport and for experts. You can scale the mountainscape in no time at all on the most modern of lift facilities, then practise your turns on the best prepared snow.
Dachstein West has long been the best place in the Alps for families with children. Since here it’s not just the price performance ratio which is right, there is also a range on offer here which is tailored to suit the needs of the whole family. Short paths, a manageable ski area and lots of fun children’s ski camps and the ‘Spatzennest’ children’s area provide stress-free family fun. The magic carpet, ‘Brumsiland’, ‘Bärencamp’ and practising their first turns in the snow put a smile on children’s faces, while their parents get to relax, practise their carving or have a stop off for a bite to eat. There are even more pistes, and even more huts you can avail of with Dachstein West ski passes, from 1.5 days, without a surcharge! These are valid – as well as in Gosau, Russbach and Annaberg – in five other ski areas: Freesports Arena Krippenstein Dachstein in Obertraun, Feuerkogel in Ebensee, Postalm, St. Martin am Tennengebirge, Lungötz and Karkogel/Abtenau (incl. floodlit skiing in Lungötz). The season ticket is also valid at Zinken lifts in Dürrnberg!
