Finally alpine summer is here!

And with it, green alpine meadows, blossoming alpine flowers, cowbells as the background noise and delicious alpine snacks!

We were so excited when we finally had the opportunity to go to the Zwieselalm and into the Dachstein West hiking area. And when the weather forecast promised sunshine and perfect hiking weather, we could hardly wait.

Early at 8.15 a.m. we took the first gondola of the Gosaukammbahn up the mountain, where we were greeted by the alpine summer as soon as we got off. Sunshine, the finest panoramic views, blossoming buttercups and spring gentian surrounded us on this day. We only saw a few small patches of snow here and there.

On the hiking trails, we were escorted part of the way by the grazing cows of the local farmers. With respectful distance we listened to their bells and made our way through the herd.

After arriving at our destination and having finished our work, we took the opportunity to spend our lunch break on the sunny terrace of the Gablonzerhütte.  Of course, it goes without saying that we couldn't pass up a small portion of Kaiserschmarrn. And where could it taste better than in the middle of the green alpine meadows and this fantastic view!

You definitely shouldn't miss out on this!
